Richmond Police detectives have identified the victim in the homicide that occurred last night on Hampton Street as Wilson Negron, 46, of Henrico. The incident took place at approximately 6:24 p.m. on Tuesday when officers responded to a shooting report in the 1300 block of Hampton Street. Negron was found injured on the ground with a gunshot wound and was later pronounced dead at a local hospital. Richmond Police detectives have confirmed the identity of the victim in the tragic homicide that took place last night on Hampton Street as Wilson Negron, a 46-year-old resident of Henrico.

On Tuesday evening at around 6:24 p.m., officers received a distressing call regarding a shooting in the 1300 block of Hampton Street. Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered Negron lying injured on the ground. He had sustained a gunshot wound and was swiftly transported to a nearby hospital where he sadly passed away due to his injuries.

The cause and manner of Negron’s death will be determined by the Medical Examiner as the investigation progresses.

The Major Crimes unit detectives are actively working on the case. Upon their arrival at the scene, a vehicle was found in the vicinity, prompting detectives to explore any potential links between the vehicle and the tragic shooting incident.
