Milpitas police arrested a man for throwing an incendiary device through a McDonald’s restaurant in the city. The incident occurred early Wednesday morning, with the suspect fleeing in a vehicle afterwards. Fortunately, the restaurant was closed, and no one was inside at the time. The suspect, Tai Trinh, was apprehended half a mile away. The estimated damage to the McDonald’s is $150,000. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Milpitas Police Department. MILPITAS, Calif. — Man Arrested for Allegedly Throwing Incendiary Device Through McDonald’s Restaurant Window

MILPITAS, Calif. — Milpitas officers arrested a man who allegedly threw an incendiary device through a McDonald’s restaurant in the city early Wednesday morning, according to police.

The incident took place around 2:40 a.m. when Milpitas police received a report of an in-progress arson at the McDonald’s store located at 41 Ranch Drive. Witnesses reported seeing a man throwing an incendiary device through a glass window at the restaurant.

After the act, the suspect quickly fled the scene in a vehicle, leaving the restaurant in flames.

Fortunately, at the time of the incident, the McDonald’s store was closed and unoccupied. Emergency crews responded swiftly to extinguish the fire and prevent further damage to the property.

A Milpitas police officer located the suspect, identified as Tai Trinh, approximately half a mile away from the scene. Trinh was subsequently arrested and booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail on charges of suspected arson and felony vandalism.

The Milpitas Fire Department estimated the damage to the McDonald’s restaurant to be around $150,000.
