Troopers in Muscatine, Iowa have identified the victim of a fatal crash as 28-year-old Kyle Dierks from Tipton. The incident occurred on Highway 38, where Dierks was riding a 2022 Kawk Motorcycle southbound. An 81-year-old driver in a Nissan Pathfinder and a 77-year-old driver in a Jeep Liberty were traveling north. The crash happened when the Nissan attempted to turn west and collided with Dierks on his motorcycle. Sadly, Dierks lost his life in the accident, while another individual, 82-year-old Gary Brown, sustained injuries and was taken to the hospital. The Iowa State Patrol is currently investigating the incident.

According to the crash report, the incident took place at 3:30 p.m., involving multiple vehicles on the highway. Dierks was travelling southbound on his 2022 Kawk Motorcycle, while 81-year-old Margaret Brown was driving a 2016 Nissan Pathfinder and 77-year-old Bruce Dagel was driving a 2011 Jeep Liberty in the opposite direction.
The collision occurred when Brown attempted to turn west at Brookview Road, causing Dierks on his motorcycle to collide with the Nissan. The impact forced the Nissan to come to a halt in the southbound lane of Highway 38, while the motorcycle was struck by the Jeep before coming to a stop in the ditch.
Response to the Incident
Emergency services were quick to respond to the scene, but tragically, Dierks succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. Another individual, identified as 82-year-old Gary Brown, was rushed to a nearby hospital by EMS for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash.
