Tragic Incident in Fort Myers, Florida
A man in Fort Myers, Florida, was shot and killed by police after he failed to comply with orders to drop a knife and approached officers on Sunday night. The incident occurred on June 9, just after 11:30 p.m. in the area of Grand Avenue and Waltman Street.
Authorities from the Fort Myers Police Department responded to a call where a woman and two small children were found hiding in a carport. The woman informed officers that her husband, identified as 33-year-old Willy Lumaine, was allegedly attacking their roommate.
Upon arrival at the scene, police discovered an open door and a trail of blood inside the residence. They immediately established a perimeter and began issuing verbal commands to locate the husband and any potential victims.
Police Confrontation
Lumaine was observed breaking a rear window with a large knife. Despite repeated commands to drop the weapon, he emerged from the window holding the knife and what appeared to be a dismembered body part. Ignoring further commands, he proceeded towards the officers, leading to the fatal shooting.

Following the shooting, medical aid was administered to Lumaine, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
