Tragic Accident Claims Six Lives in Shangla District
In a heartbreaking turn of events, a mini jeep carrying a family met with a tragic accident in the picturesque Bar Batkot area of Bisham tehsil in Shangla district. The serene mountainous village, known for its rugged terrain and challenging road conditions, became the site of a devastating incident on Monday night.
The ill-fated journey of Iqbal Rawan and his family turned fatal as their jeep plunged into a deep gorge, resulting in the untimely demise of six family members. The lack of proper road infrastructure and unreliable mobile phone network added to the challenges faced by the locals in accessing emergency services promptly.
Rescue Efforts Amidst Adversity
Despite the remote location and difficult terrain, the resilient community members of Bar Batkot swiftly responded to the emergency. They bravely retrieved the bodies and rescued the injured from the ravine, ensuring that they were promptly transported to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Bisham.
Tragically, five women, including Tasvisa, Namriqa, Naza Bibi, Jan Zari, and Muslima Bibi, along with Iqbal Rawan himself, lost their lives in the accident. The injured survivors, Navida Bibi, Muflika Mehak, and Zarshed Khan, were rushed to Ayub Medical Complex in Abbottabad for urgent medical care.
Another Tragic Incident Unfolds in Matta Tehsil
Meanwhile, in a separate incident in Narkat area of Matta tehsil, a rickshaw carrying mourners from Buner district overturned, claiming four lives and leaving four others critically injured. The rickshaw’s fatal descent into a ditch was triggered by a fire caused by an LPG gas cylinder, leading to the unfortunate demise of Socha, Sajidullah, Bakhtzada, and Shakirullah.
The injured victims, including Bakhtai, two-year-old Nisar, Umar Ali, and Fayaz, were promptly taken to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention. The somber occasion of offering condolences turned into a scene of devastation for the grieving family.
Levies Man Killed in Dera Ismail Khan Collision
Adding to the series of tragic incidents, a collision between a van and a mini-truck on Dera-Daraban Road in Dera Ismail Khan resulted in the loss of a Levies man, Bashir Sherani. The fatal crash near Kulachi Mor left four other individuals injured, underscoring the importance of road safety and vigilance while travelling on these routes.
