Steven Oboite Faces Charges in Allahnia Lenoir Case

Steven Oboite, the 31-year-old man wanted in connection to the 2022 disappearance and suspected murder of Allahnia Lenoir, has finally returned to Atlanta to face charges in the case. After evading authorities for nearly two years, Oboite was apprehended in early June while enjoying a day on Lake Allatoona.

During his time on the lake, Oboite found himself facing several charges for his behavior, including Boating Under the Influence (BUI), obstruction, and violations of boat traffic rules. Despite initially being held at the Bartow County Jail, Oboite was released on Tuesday afternoon, only to be promptly picked up by the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office.

Prior to his recent arrest, Oboite had been on the run for nearly two years. His capture occurred on Lake Allatoona in Bartow County, where Georgia Department of Natural Resources officers attempted to stop him for a no-wake violation. Oboite, however, chose to flee, abandoning his jet ski and attempting to escape into the nearby woods. Thanks to the diligent efforts of game wardens, he was eventually apprehended.

“Having a good time at Lake Allatoona lets me know you had zero intention of ever turning yourself in,” remarked Jeannette Jackson, Lenoir’s mother, regarding Oboite’s behavior leading up to his arrest.

What happened to Allahnia Lenoir?

Allahnia Lenoir, a 24-year-old woman, was last seen at a Midtown Atlanta apartment building on Peachtree Street on July 31, 2022. While visiting the complex with a friend, Lenoir mysteriously disappeared, prompting her loved ones to report her missing the following day. Despite extensive efforts to locate her, Lenoir’s body has never been found, leading authorities to believe that she met a tragic fate.

Who else is charged in Allahnia Lenoir’s disappearance?

Following Lenoir’s disappearance, Atlanta police identified two other men as suspects in the case alongside Steven Oboite. Diante Reynolds and Nicholas Hendrickson were both linked to the incident, with Hendrickson allegedly assisting Oboite and Reynolds in disposing of Lenoir’s body. While Reynolds has been charged with multiple offenses, including felony murder and tampering with evidence, Hendrickson faces charges related to concealing the death of another, tampering with evidence, and false statements.

Despite his attempts to secure bond, Hendrickson remains in custody at the Fulton County Jail, awaiting further legal proceedings in connection to the case.
