A devastating event unfolded in Birmingham, Alabama, on Sunday, resulting in the tragic death of a young man named Michael Earl Williams Jr., aged 21. The incident occurred at a residence located in the 1800 block of Fulton Avenue S.W., where Williams and two other individuals were engulfed by flames while burning trash.

Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Yates revealed that Williams and the two men with him had used an accelerant to start a fire to burn a trash pile outside the Birmingham home. The situation took a devastating turn at around 11:18 p.m. on Saturday when all three individuals were consumed by the flames.
Victim identified
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office confirmed the identity of the victim as Michael Earl Williams Jr., who tragically passed away at UAB Hospital in Birmingham on Tuesday at 12:30 a.m. CDT. The conditions of the other two individuals involved in the incident have not been disclosed.
