A Suspect Arrested After Fatal Shooting in Santa Ana
A suspect has been apprehended following the tragic death of a 19-year-old male who was found shot to death in Santa Ana. The suspect, identified as Gabriel Gutierrez, 19, was taken into custody by the Santa Ana Police Department.
Location of the Incident
The incident took place on June 3 near the 1100 block of South Poplar Street in Santa Ana. Police received a distress call regarding a shooting at around 6:42 p.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim, Angel Junior Vuelvas, 19, lying on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds. Unfortunately, Vuelvas was pronounced dead at the scene.
Arrest of the Suspect
The gunman had fled the scene before the police arrived, sparking an intense search for the perpetrator. On June 7, detectives successfully located Gabriel Gutierrez and placed him under arrest. Gutierrez now faces murder charges and has been booked at the Santa Ana Jail.
