The incident took place on the morning of May 14, 2024, when a senior citizen was found unconscious and bleeding in her ground-floor room in Jafrabad. Upon inspection, it was discovered that her gold earrings, mobile phone, smartwatch, and purse containing cash and jewellery were missing. The victim was rushed to GTB Hospital but unfortunately succumbed to her injuries on May 18, 2024.

The case was initially registered as a robbery (FIR No. 191/24 dated May 16, 2024) and was later upgraded to include murder charges. Following a tip-off from HC Suneet, the Crime Branch conducted raids in the Ghonda, Maujpur, and Jafrabad areas of Delhi to apprehend the culprit.
