The Recent Incidents in Sunbury

Police in Sunbury have been kept busy with a series of incidents that occurred in the span of just a few hours on Monday. These incidents included two shootings and two drug cases, all of which required immediate attention from law enforcement.

At around 11:30am, officers responded to a call about a domestic dispute on Arch Street. Upon arrival, they discovered a situation that required a search for drugs. Charges are currently pending in this case as the investigation continues.

Child Abduction on Julia Street

Shortly after the first incident, a child abduction was reported on Julia Street just after 1pm. Thankfully, the child was located unharmed shortly after the report. However, a drug search was initiated at the scene, and charges are now pending in relation to this case.

Disturbance at Memorial Acres

At 1:22pm, police were called to Memorial Acres following a disturbance where someone had allegedly flashed a handgun during a dispute. Charges will be filed in connection with this incident as the investigation progresses.

Shots Fired on North Eighth Street

Shortly after the disturbance at Memorial Acres, shots were fired at a location along North Eighth Street. According to police, an argument escalated into gunfire, though fortunately, no injuries were reported. The investigation into this incident is currently ongoing.

High-Speed Pursuit

These incidents come on the heels of a high-speed pursuit that took place on Friday, where a man managed to evade Sunbury police at extremely high speeds. The suspect, identified as 51-year-old Thomas Donfrancesco, is now facing a series of felony charges in connection with the incident.

Despite the intensity of these events, no injuries were reported in any of the incidents, which is a relief for both law enforcement and the community at large.
