Court Avenue Shooting Incident Leads to Arrest of Second Suspect

DES MOINES, Iowa — In a recent turn of events, a second suspect has been charged in connection to a shooting incident that took place on Court Avenue over the weekend. The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning in the vibrant 100 block of Court Avenue. Des Moines Police Department officers on foot patrol in the Court Avenue Entertainment District witnessed the shooting and acted swiftly to respond. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident.

Suspect Apprehended at the Scene

According to reports, the suspected shooter attempted to flee the scene but stumbled while trying to escape. The suspect, now identified as 25-year-old Brandon Lee Foster, was apprehended without incident and taken into custody. Foster was then transported to a hospital for treatment of a fractured bone sustained during the incident.

Charges Filed Against Foster

On Monday morning, Brandon Foster was booked into the Polk County Jail on several charges related to the shooting. These charges include Interference With Official Acts With A Dangerous Weapon, Reckless Use Of A Firearm, and Persons Ineligible To Carry A Dangerous Weapon.

Second Suspect Arrested

Following the shooting, authorities also arrested 25-year-old Andrew Woock-Shelton in connection to the incident. Woock-Shelton was charged with Interference With Official Acts With A Dangerous Weapon, Possession Of A Controlled Substance – Marijuana, and Persons Ineligible To Carry A Dangerous Weapon.

Legal Proceedings

Both Foster and Woock-Shelton have since been released from the Polk County Jail. They are scheduled to appear for preliminary hearings on June 19 to address the charges brought against them.
