Nine people lost their lives in the Reasi terror attack, including four members of a family and a two-year-old boy after their bus fell into a gorge following gunfire by terrorists. Two cousins from Uttar Pradesh’s Balrampur were among the deceased. The bus, carrying pilgrims from the Shiv Khori temple to Katra, veered off the road and plunged into a deep gorge near Teryath village. The victims included a cloth merchant, his wife, a relative, and their young son. The survivors recounted the horror of the attack, with one family member still hospitalized. The bodies of the deceased were brought back to their respective hometowns for final rites.

Nine individuals tragically lost their lives in a terror attack that occurred in Reasi on Sunday. The incident took a devastating turn when a bus carrying pilgrims fell into a gorge after being targeted by terrorists. Among the victims were four members of a family, including a two-year-old boy. Additionally, two cousins from Balrampur, Uttar Pradesh, were also among those who perished in the attack.

The Scene of the Tragedy

The 53-seater bus, en route from the Shiv Khori temple to Katra, found itself under siege as gunfire erupted, causing the driver to lose control. The vehicle careened off the road and plunged into a deep gorge near the Teryath village in the Poni area, leaving a trail of devastation in its wake.

Jaipur-based cloth merchant Rajendra Saini, his wife Mamta, their relative Pooja Saini, and her young son Levansh, also known as Titu, were among those who tragically lost their lives in the attack.

A Heart-Wrenching Loss

Om Prakash Saini, the father of Pooja, revealed that the children of Rajendra and Mamata have yet to be informed of their parents’ untimely demise, adding another layer of sorrow to this already tragic event.

A Painful Journey Home

Rajendra Saini and Mamta hailed from Chomu town in Jaipur district, while Pooja resided in Ajmera ki Dhani in the Harmada area on Chomu road. The devastating news of their loss sent shockwaves through their respective communities.

The bodies of the deceased were transported to Jaipur by train, a somber journey that marked the beginning of the grieving process for their loved ones.

Loss in Balrampur

Ruby and her cousin Anurag Verma, both from Balrampur, Uttar Pradesh, were also among those who lost their lives in the terror attack. Ruby, a young woman pursuing her graduation and working as a teacher in a private school, had embarked on a pilgrimage to the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine with her family.

Her mother Vimla Devi and elder sister Maina Verma sustained injuries in the attack, highlighting the far-reaching impact of this senseless act of violence.

District Magistrate of Balrampur, Arvind Singh, confirmed that a group of 12 devotees from the district had set out on a pilgrimage to the revered shrine in Jammu, underscoring the widespread ramifications of this tragic incident.
