Investigation into the Death of a Brazilian Diver in Newcastle
Organised Crime Squad detectives in Newcastle have been diligently working on a case involving the tragic death of a Brazilian diver, Bruno Borges Martins. The incident took place at the Port of Newcastle on Monday 9 May 2022, where emergency services responded to reports of an unresponsive male diver in the water. Shockingly, 54kg of cocaine was found near the victim, adding a layer of complexity to the investigation.

Local police initially began the inquiries surrounding the death of Bruno Borges Martins before the case was handed over to the State Crime Command’s Organised Crime Squad under Strike Force Groove. The truck was last sighted on the M4 Motorway at Pennant Hills, further adding to the mystery surrounding the case.
