Remembering Kevin Kreger: A Pillar of the Dearborn Community
DEARBORN, Mich (FOX 2) – The Dearborn community is in mourning following the tragic loss of Kevin Kreger, a beloved father, husband, and chiropractor. Kevin’s impact on the community is being felt deeply as friends and family remember him as a humble, confident, and caring individual.
Kevin Kreger tragically lost his life in a plane crash in Washtenaw County, where he was teaching a student to become a pilot. The student was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, while Kevin succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Alex Grignon, coach of Dearborn High School’s football team, fondly recalls Kevin as a role model who was always positive, passionate, and caring. Grignon has known Kevin since he was a child and witnessed firsthand the impact he had on those around him.
Kevin Kreger’s legacy extends beyond his role as a chiropractor. In the 1990s, he was a legendary figure at Dearborn High School, serving as captain and quarterback of an undefeated, unscored upon football team. His dedication and talent on the field were a testament to his character.
Kevin Kreger was a Dearborn prep football legend and all-state star for the Pioneers in the mid-1990s.
Following his high school success, Kevin continued his athletic pursuits at Hillsdale College, where he excelled in both football and basketball. His commitment to excellence and leadership qualities were evident both on and off the field.
Despite his many accomplishments, Kevin remained dedicated to giving back to his community. He volunteered his time to coach and mentor young athletes, instilling in them the same values that guided his own life.
As the Dearborn community comes to terms with this heartbreaking loss, Alex Grignon encourages others to honour Kevin’s memory by embodying the same spirit of kindness and dedication that he exemplified. Kevin’s impact will be felt for years to come, as his legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew him.
The National Transportation Safety Board is currently investigating the cause of the plane crash, as the community grapples with the loss of a true hero.
