Several violent altercations occurred over the weekend in different parts of the country, resulting in four individuals being stabbed, three of whom died and one was injured. In one incident at Ongwediva, a 31-year-old man named Sheuyange Petrus was fatally stabbed by a 28-year-old man after an argument at a drinking hole. Violent altercations erupted across the country over the weekend, resulting in a series of tragic stabbings that left a trail of devastation in their wake.

Stabbing Incidents Shake Namibia

In a harrowing incident that took place at Ongwediva, a 31-year-old man, Sheuyange Petrus, known as ‘Peter Kalyongo’, was fatally stabbed by a 28-year-old assailant following a heated argument at Rasta Kapana & Bar in the New Reception area.

According to a police report released by Oshana police spokesperson chief inspector Thomas Aiyambo, the fatal altercation occurred around 02h05, leading to the untimely death of the victim upon arrival at Oshakati State Hospital.

Arrest Made in Ongwediva Stabbing Case

The suspect, a resident of New Reception at Ongwediva, has been apprehended by authorities, with the alleged murder weapon, an okapi knife, recovered at the scene.

In a separate incident at Y2K Bar in Coblenz, Otjozondjupa region, a 33-year-old man was stabbed in the stomach by his 44-year-old colleague during a dispute over money. The victim, a farm worker at Otjuuru Tjongombe cattle post, was rushed to Grootfontein State Hospital for urgent medical attention.

Manhunt Underway for Suspect in Masokotwani School Stabbing

Near Masokotwani School in Katima Mulilo, a 19-year-old man named Machana Sitali tragically lost his life after being stabbed in the chest while walking with his girlfriend. The suspect managed to evade capture, prompting an ongoing police investigation.

Meanwhile, at Alu corner bar in Otavi, a 21-year-old woman, Elizabeth Uwukhaes, met a similar fate when she was stabbed during a confrontation with a male companion. Despite efforts to save her, she succumbed to her injuries on the way to Otavi State Clinic.

Police Probe Continues in Otavi Stabbing Case

The alleged perpetrator, a 24-year-old male, was swiftly arrested, and investigations are ongoing as authorities piece together the events leading up to the tragic incident.
