Operation Tackles Drug Dealing in N1 Postcode Area

Metropolitan Police officers have been working tirelessly to crack down on drug dealing and street gangs in the N1 postcode area of Islington. This concerted effort has led to the sentencing of eight individuals involved in gang-related drugs supply offences.

Police Efforts to Combat Drug Dealing

Det Insp Zara Baker, who is responsible for policing Camden and Islington, has expressed her commitment to tackling drug-related crime in the area. She emphasized the importance of bringing justice to those involved in drug dealing, reducing harm to drug users, curbing serious violence, and protecting young people from being lured into criminal activities.

According to Baker, drug dealing is closely linked to violence in communities, and the police are dedicated to arresting those responsible for such criminal activities. The recent operation targeted individuals involved in supplying crack cocaine and heroin in the N1 postcode area.

Dawn Raids and Seizures

As part of the operation, police officers carried out coordinated dawn raids at 11 addresses on 5 October 2022. These addresses included locations in Islington, Hertfordshire, Hackney, and Haringey. Large quantities of Class A drugs such as crack cocaine, cocaine, and heroin were seized, along with cutting agents and drug paraphernalia.
