The Miami-Dade Police Department has identified the gunman involved in a murder-suicide in Southwest Miami-Dade. The incident took place at an ATM on Southwest 152nd Avenue and Bird Road, where a sergeant heard gunshots while driving nearby. Two adults and a child were found deceased at the scene, identified as Odalys Maria Bancroft and her 4-year-old son. The shooter, identified as Michael Andres Pineda Lozano, was Bancroft’s ex-boyfriend. He approached the bank in a silver SUV, opened fire on the minivan, and then turned the gun on himself. The Tragic Murder-Suicide in Southwest Miami-Dade
Southwest Miami-Dade, a bustling neighbourhood in Florida, was the location of a heartbreaking incident that shook the community to its core. The Miami-Dade Police Department recently identified the gunman involved in a murder-suicide that took place in this vibrant area.
The Incident
On a seemingly normal Friday morning, at around 7:30 a.m., the tranquillity of Southwest 152nd Avenue and Bird Road was shattered by the sound of gunshots. An on-duty uniformed MDPD sergeant from the Kendall District was in the vicinity and immediately sprang into action upon hearing the alarming noise. Upon arrival at the scene, the sergeant was met with a devastating sight – two adults and a child had tragically lost their lives.
The Victims
The victims were identified as 43-year-old Odalys Maria Bancroft and her 4-year-old son, Theodore Cuoto. In a heart-wrenching interview with 7News, family members shared their grief and memories of the beloved mother and son.
The Shooter
The perpetrator behind this senseless act of violence was identified as Michael Andres Pineda Lozano, a 41-year-old man who was Bancroft’s ex-boyfriend. The investigation revealed that Bancroft was at an ATM drive-thru when Lozano, driving a silver SUV, approached and opened fire on the minivan before turning the gun on himself.
