The occupants of the Impreza, Dean Dennison, 21, and Sierra Merchant, 20, both residents of Gansevoort, tragically lost their lives at the scene of the crash.
Adding to the heart-wrenching situation, the couple’s one-year-old child, Grayson Dennison, was also in the vehicle during the collision. Grayson was rushed to TidalHealth Peninsula Regional Hospital before being transferred to Johns Hopkins Children’s Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Following the crash, Jay Bynum was airlifted to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore for medical treatment. He now faces a slew of charges, including three counts of negligent manslaughter by auto, three counts of criminal negligent manslaughter by vehicle, and three counts of negligent auto homicide by motor vehicle while under the influence.
