Tragic Incident at Disneyland: Employee Dies After Golf Cart Accident

A heartbreaking incident shook Disneyland as a long-time employee tragically passed away after suffering severe head injuries in a golf cart accident. The unfortunate event took place on Wednesday, June 5th, around 11:30 AM local time.

The accident occurred backstage at Disneyland, specifically in the area of West Ball Road and South West Street. Anaheim Police and Anaheim Fire and Rescue personnel swiftly responded to a collision report at the location, as reported by the Los Angeles Times.

The employee involved in the accident has been identified as Bonnye Mavis Lear, a 60-year-old resident of Fullerton. She sustained a head injury after falling from a moving golf cart and was immediately transported to a local hospital in serious condition.

Despite the best efforts of medical staff, Lear tragically succumbed to her injuries two days after being hospitalized, on Friday.

Authorities have confirmed that the incident was purely accidental, with no suspicion of drugs or alcohol playing a role. The driver of the golf cart, responsible for the collision, emerged unscathed from the accident.

In a statement expressing condolences, Ken Potrock, president of Disneyland Resort, conveyed deep sorrow over Bonnye’s untimely passing. “We are heartbroken by the loss of Bonnye and offer our sincere condolences to everyone who cared for her,” Potrock stated.
