After interrogating Siyam Hussain, an accused in the murder of Bangladesh MP Anwarul Azim Anar in Kolkata, police recovered skeletal bones believed to be of the slain MP from the Kashipur area. The main accused, Akhtaruzzaman, has fled to the US after allegedly killing Anar with local accomplices. The 56-year-old MP was brutally murdered, with his body dismembered and disposed of in different places. Investigations suggest a rift over gold smuggling between Anar and Akhtaruzzaman could have led to the murder. Anar was reportedly honey-trapped by a Bangladeshi model named Silasti Rahman, who aided in his killing. Rahman has been detained by Bangladesh police.

Following the interrogation of Siyam Hussain, an accused in the murder of Bangladesh MP Anwarul Azim Anar in Kolkata, police on Sunday made a significant discovery. From the Kashipur area, investigators recovered what they believe are skeletal bones of the slain MP.
Hussain, who was arrested in Nepal on Monday and extradited on Friday, provided crucial information during questioning at the site where Anar was murdered. The main accused, identified as Akhtaruzzaman, a business partner of Anar, is currently at large with a US passport and is believed to have fled to the US. It is alleged that he orchestrated the murder with the help of local accomplices before escaping to the US via Kathmandu, Nepal.
The 56-year-old MP of Bangladesh’s ruling Awami League met a gruesome fate, with his body dismembered into about 80 pieces to obliterate evidence. Anar, who was in Kolkata for medical treatment, went missing on May 17, leading to a complaint being filed by his acquaintance on May 18.
Reports suggest that the MP was murdered in a luxurious flat in the New Town area of Kolkata. The initial suspect, a butcher, allegedly cut up Anar’s body and mixed the parts with turmeric before disposing of them in various locations.
Investigators speculate that a disagreement between Anar and Akhtaruzzaman over gold smuggling could have been the motive behind the murder. Furthermore, it has been revealed that Anar may have been deceived by a Bangladeshi model named Silasti Rahman, who is suspected to have played a role in his demise.
Rahman, along with another key suspect named Amanullah Khan, reportedly fled to Bangladesh following the murder. However, recent reports indicate that Rahman has been apprehended by the Bangladesh police.
Anar had been staying at his acquaintance Gopal Biswas’s residence upon arriving in Kolkata. Biswas recounted that Anar left for a doctor’s appointment on the afternoon of May 13 but never returned, going incommunicado on May 17.
