The incident occurred around 4:40 p.m. local time on FM 1433, approximately eight miles north of Carrizo Springs, according to Rene Cordova, a spokesperson at the Del Rio office of the Texas Department of Public Safety. The black Chrysler 300, traveling at high speed westbound, lost control and collided with a red 1998 Dodge pickup heading eastbound. The Chrysler then rolled into a ditch and caught fire, resulting in the deaths of the driver and three passengers. The DPS is currently investigating the crash.

On a fateful Thursday afternoon, a devastating head-on collision occurred in Texas, claiming the lives of seven individuals and leaving two children seriously injured. The incident took place around 4:40 p.m. local time on FM 1433, approximately eight miles north of Carrizo Springs. Carrizo Springs, the site of the tragic accident, is situated about 116 miles southwest of San Antonio. The rural road of FM 1433, where the collision occurred, serves as a vital thoroughfare for local residents and commuters. The Tragic Sequence of Events

A black Chrysler 300 was travelling at a high rate of speed in the westbound direction on FM 1433 when it lost control and veered onto the wrong side of the road. The devastating impact occurred when the Chrysler crashed head-on into a 1998 red Dodge pickup that was travelling eastbound. The collision was so severe that it resulted in a cascading series of tragic events.

Loss of Lives and Airlifted Children

The aftermath of the collision was tragic, with the driver and three passengers of the Chrysler perishing in the fiery wreckage. On the other side, the driver and two passengers of the Dodge also lost their lives. The victims from the Dodge were identified as Isabel Small, 50; San Juanita De La Cruz, 64; and Victor Manuel Martinez, 83, all residents of Crystal City, Texas. Two children who were also in the Dodge were airlifted to University Hospital in San Antonio for urgent medical care, their conditions remain unknown.
