Investigation and Arrest
The investigation began in December 2023, when detectives were alerted to a series of thefts at a Target store in Los Angeles. Loss prevention workers were able to identify Gudino as the primary suspect. On June 4, the police witnessed Gudino allegedly stealing LEGO products from Target stores in Torrance and Lakewood, both located in the Los Angeles area. It was discovered that she would then drop off the stolen merchandise at Siegel’s residence in Long Beach.

The following day, a search warrant was executed at Siegel’s home in Long Beach. To the surprise of the officers, they found over 2,800 boxes of stolen LEGO toy sets inside the residence. The photos from the bust depict rows of LEGO boxes stored on shelves, transforming the living room into what resembled a warehouse.
Stolen LEGO Items
Most of the stolen toys were collector’s items or pricier sets, with individual retail values ranging from $20 to over $1,000, according to LAPD. Among the stolen sets were collectible Star Wars, Ninjago, Harry Potter, Technic vehicles, LEGO Architecture, Marvel, Minecraft, special pop-culture editions, and more. One of the stolen items even appeared to be a demo set housed in plexiglass typically displayed inside a store.

Arrest and Investigation
While investigating Siegel’s residence, the police observed potential toy buyers arriving at the home, likely brought in by advertisements allegedly posted online by Siegel. Siegel was arrested on charges of organized retail theft, while Gudino was arrested for grand theft allegations. The incidents are still under investigation.
Similar Incidents
This LEGO theft bust follows a series of similar thefts that targeted Bricks & Minifigs stores throughout Southern California. During these incidents, thieves forcibly entered multiple stores, making off with approximately $100,000 worth of LEGO toys.
