The Pune Police Takes Legal Action Against Family Members in Porsche Crash Case
The Pune Police has recently registered a case against the father and grandfather of a minor involved in a tragic Porsche car crash that occurred on May 19 in Pune. Apart from this case, the police have also registered a separate case related to the abetment of suicide of a businessman’s son in the city, against three other individuals.
Harassment Allegations and Suicide
The complaint was filed by DS Kature, a construction business owner in Pune’s Vadgaon Sheri area. Kature accused Vinay Kale of harassing his son, Shashikant Kature, who had borrowed money from Kale for construction work. Due to the inability to repay the loan on time, Kale allegedly added compounding interest to the principal amount, leading to constant harassment. Tragically, Shashikant Kature died by suicide in January this year.
Legal Action Taken
A case was registered against Kale under Sections 306 (abetment of suicide) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code at the Chandannagar police station in Pune. During the course of the investigation, the involvement of the juvenile’s father, grandfather, and three others in the suicide case came to light. Additional Sections 420 (cheating) and 34 (common intention) of the IPC were added to the case.
Grandfather’s Judicial Custody
The juvenile’s grandfather is currently in judicial custody for allegedly kidnapping and wrongfully confining their family driver. The driver was reportedly pressured to falsely claim that he was driving the Porsche at the time of the fatal accident.

Family Members in Police Custody
The 17-year-old boy’s father, Vishal Agarwal, a real estate developer, and his mother are currently in police custody in connection to the swapping of the juvenile’s blood sample. The fatal accident in Kalyani Nagar resulted in the deaths of two IT professionals after the Porsche, allegedly driven by the minor, collided with their two-wheeler.
Legal Action and High Court Petition
The grandfather of the teen approached the Bombay High Court through his lawyer, Aashutosh Srivastava, with a writ petition, claiming wrongful detention and false implication in the case of kidnapping and wrongful confinement of their family driver. The petition highlighted procedural irregularities and the need to follow due process.
