Significant Success in Operation Cyber Highway Safety Check
A recent operation conducted by Arkansas State Police to stop child sex predators has been deemed a significant success. The operation, known as Operation Cyber Highway Safety Check, resulted in the arrest of 42 suspects over a span of three months.
Details of the Operation
Starting on March 10 and continuing through the end of May, Operation Cyber Highway Safety Check targeted individuals involved in child sex abuse material and those who failed to comply with registration requirements. Among the arrests made, nine individuals were apprehended for hands-on offenses.
During the operation, investigators were able to rescue five children from ongoing sexual abuse and identified 22 new victims. Additionally, a total of 178 search warrants were executed, and over 1,600 home visits were conducted with registered sex offenders.
Efforts of the Task Force
Members of the ASP’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force initiated 160 investigations during the operation. So far, 63 cases have been submitted for prosecution in both state and federal courts.

As a result of the operation, 45 cases have led to grand jury indictments. Two cases involving child sex trafficking have resulted in arrests, with ongoing investigations spanning multiple states.

Major Stacie Rhoads, commander of the ASP Criminal Investigation Division, hailed the operation as the most successful in the task force’s history. The collaborative efforts of law enforcement agencies have led to significant breakthroughs in combating child sexual exploitation.
