Body Found in Parkland County Identified as Wetaskiwin Man

Authorities have confirmed that the remains discovered in Parkland County belong to a 19-year-old man from Wetaskiwin, Alberta.

Discovery of Human Remains

On the 14th of May, a passerby stumbled upon human remains in a wooded area near Range Rd. 271 and Twp. 514, just south of Spruce Grove in Parkland County. The deceased individual was then taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy, which was conducted on May 21.

Identification of the Deceased

Last week, the RCMP officially identified the body as that of Eric George Moonias, a resident of Wetaskiwin. Moonias, who was 19 years old at the time of his death, had been known to frequent the Edmonton area but was not reported missing prior to the discovery of his body in Parkland County.
