Former England Rugby League international Rob Burrow has tragically passed away at the age of 41 after a long and courageous battle with motor neurone disease.

Burrow, who was a beloved figure in the world of rugby league, was diagnosed with the debilitating disease in December 2019. Despite facing immense challenges, he continued to inspire others with his strength and determination.

Throughout his career, Burrow was known for his speed, agility, and tenacity on the field. Standing at just 5ft 5in, he defied expectations and became a key player for both club and country.

Born and raised in the heart of rugby league country, Burrow began his professional career with the Leeds Rhinos in 2001. Over the next 16 years, he would go on to make over 400 appearances for the club, winning multiple Super League titles and Challenge Cups along the way.

Burrow also represented England at the international level, earning caps for his country in both the 2006 and 2011 Four Nations tournaments. His passion for the game and his unwavering commitment to his team made him a fan favourite wherever he went.

As news of Burrow’s passing spread, tributes poured in from across the rugby league community. Former teammates, coaches, and opponents all spoke of his talent, his spirit, and his infectious personality.
