2. Death toll rises to 10
The death toll in the Hyderabad cylinder blast incident has risen to 10, with another injured individual passing away in a Karachi hospital. 13 other injured victims are currently receiving treatment, with seven in critical condition. The explosions, which occurred in a gas cylinder shop, resulted in fires in nearby homes and left over 60 people injured, including women and children. Due to inadequate facilities in Civil Hospital Hyderabad, 23 severely injured patients, mostly children, were transferred to Civil Hospital Karachi. In a separate incident, a gang of thieves stealing underground PTCL cables was arrested in Karachi, with stolen goods worth Rs 2.5 million recovered.

Tragic Incident in Hyderabad
Over the weekend, tragedy struck in Hyderabad as the death toll rose to 10 following a devastating cylinder blast. The incident, which occurred in a gas cylinder shop, resulted in multiple explosions that caused fires in nearby homes and left more than 60 people injured, including women and children.
Response and Treatment
Following the blast, the injured were quickly rushed to Civil Hospital Hyderabad for treatment. However, due to the severity of their injuries and the limited facilities available, 23 of the most critically injured patients, many of whom were children, were transferred to Civil Hospital Karachi for further care.
Despite the efforts of medical staff, the situation remains dire, with 13 patients still in critical condition at the hospital in Karachi. The AMS of Civil Hospital Hyderabad, Dr. Aftab Phul, expressed concern over the high number of severe injuries resulting from the blast.
Arrest of Cable Thieves
In a separate incident, the police in Hyderabad made a significant breakthrough by apprehending a gang of thieves who were involved in stealing underground PTCL cables. The police, led by DSP Frere Chaudhry Shahid, conducted a raid that resulted in the arrest of 10 individuals and the recovery of Rs 2.5 million worth of stolen cable.

Notably, three of the arrested individuals were in-service PTCL employees, highlighting the brazen nature of the theft. The thieves were caught red-handed as they attempted to steal cables near St. Anthony church, and the police also recovered a tractor and truck used in the crime.
