Martinez, displaying reckless behaviour, started skipping and hopping around while firing bullets towards Powell and his vehicle. Tragically, Powell was struck and pronounced dead at the scene, while Jonathan Fuentes, also in the vehicle, was critically injured and later succumbed to his wounds.

Legal Ramifications and Justice Served

After a thorough legal process, Daniel Martinez was found guilty on two counts of first-degree murder by a jury on May 31. He now faces a sentence of 25 years to life in the Utah State Prison, pending a sentencing hearing scheduled for July 18.
