Two passengers were killed and 16 sustained injuries in a bus accident in Jammu’s Akhnoor sub-division. The driver lost control near Kaleeth village, resulting in the tragic incident. Kewal Kumar and V Bhagat lost their lives on the spot, while the injured were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. This is the second major accident in the area in just four days, highlighting the need for better road safety measures. In a separate incident, a man was killed and another injured in a two-wheeler collision with a bus. The deceased was identified as Sunny Kumar, with the injured being shifted to the hospital for treatment.

Tragic Bus Accident Claims Two Lives in Jammu

In a devastating turn of events, a bus carrying passengers overturned in the Akhnoor sub-division of Jammu, resulting in the loss of two lives and injuries to 16 individuals. The incident occurred near Kaleeth village, where the driver lost control of the vehicle, leading to the tragic accident.

The victims, identified as Kewal Kumar and V Bhagat, tragically lost their lives at the scene of the accident. The injured passengers were promptly transported to a nearby hospital, with three individuals requiring further specialized treatment at the Government Medical College Hospital.

Recent Spate of Accidents in Akhnoor Area

This unfortunate incident marks the second major accident in the Akhnoor area of Jammu in just four days. Previously, on May 30, a bus carrying pilgrims plunged into a 150-foot gorge at Tungi-Morh, resulting in the deaths of 22 individuals and injuries to 57 others. The frequency of such accidents in the region has raised concerns about road safety and infrastructure.

Additionally, in a separate incident on the outskirts of Jammu, a collision between a two-wheeler and a bus claimed the life of Sunny Kumar, a 25-year-old resident of Gurha Jagir. Another individual, Anku Kumar, aged 23, sustained injuries in the accident and was promptly taken to the hospital for medical attention.
