Tragic Loss: Young Man Succumbs to Heatstroke in Delhi

A heartbreaking incident occurred in the bustling city of Delhi, where a 26-year-old youth from the picturesque Shakwara area in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district tragically lost his life. The young man, identified as Younis Nazeer, son of Nazeer Ahmad Malla of Jehangirpora Shakwara, succumbed to a severe heatstroke while working at an HP electronics outlet in the national capital.

According to family sources, Younis Nazeer fell unconscious at his workplace, prompting his colleagues to rush him to DDU hospital in Delhi. Despite their efforts, the doctors at the hospital declared him brought dead, leaving his loved ones devastated by the sudden turn of events.

Dr. Nandita Pokhriyal, MBBS, MD, Senior Resident at the Department of Forensic Medicine, DDU Hospital, Govt. of NCT of Delhi, revealed through a document that the cause of death appeared to be a cardiac arrest induced by the intense heatstroke. The family was informed that the final opinion would be provided after the receipt of the blood sample sent to the FSL in Delhi.

Following the completion of the post-mortem examination, the body of the deceased was handed over to his grieving family for the last rites. The family expressed their gratitude to the Jammu and Kashmir police and its New Delhi Unit for their assistance in expediting the medico-legal formalities during this difficult time. In particular, DySp Aijaz Ahmad was lauded for his support and guidance.
