Early Sunday morning saw a chaotic scene at Sirhind railway station as two freight trains collided, resulting in injuries to the loco pilots. The incident occurred when a stationary goods train was struck from behind by another locomotive, causing a significant impact.

The Government Railway Police reported that at approximately 3:45 am, they were alerted to the collision at Sirhind railway station. The two loco pilots involved in the accident were quickly transported to a nearby civil hospital for urgent medical attention. Fortunately, no casualties were reported, providing a sense of relief amidst the chaos.

Injuries and Medical Treatment

The injured loco pilots, identified as Vikas Kumar and Himanshu Kumar, suffered varying degrees of injuries. Vikas Kumar sustained head injuries, while Himanshu Kumar experienced back injuries. Both individuals were promptly admitted to Fatehgarh Sahib Civil Hospital and later referred to Rajindra Hospital in Patiala for further treatment.

The collision not only resulted in injuries but also caused the engine of one of the trains to flip over onto another track, subsequently colliding with a passenger train.
