The incident took place at the intersection of East 12th Street and Maple Avenue near The Santee Alley, a popular outdoor shopping destination in L.A.’s Fashion District. The victims were in their vehicle when a suspect vehicle pulled up next to them, and a suspect fired multiple rounds before fleeing the scene. Two men and a woman were in the car, with one man pronounced dead at the scene. The other two victims were taken to a local hospital in critical and stable condition. Police are investigating, with no suspect or vehicle descriptions available yet.

Law enforcement officials were observed placing numerous evidence markers in the area, indicating the presence of multiple shell casings. At present, no descriptions of the suspect or the vehicle involved have been released.

This devastating incident occurred in close proximity to where General Hospital actor Johnny Wactor lost his life while attempting to thwart thieves stealing his vehicle’s catalytic converter.
