Three people have tragically lost their lives in separate road accidents in Kurigram and Gazipur districts. In Kurigram, a Jubo League activist named Md Islam Bhuttu, 46, was crushed to death by a sand-laden truck in the early hours of June 2. The incident occurred when a truck collided with the motorcycle Bhuttu was riding, resulting in his immediate death. In Gazipur, two individuals, Chanchal Roy and Ripon, were killed when a truck collided with a pick-up van in Sreepur upazila. The speeding pickup van collided with a truck near the Jainabazar Road Divider area, resulting in the tragic loss of lives.

**Kurigram District Tragedy**
In Kurigram, a heartbreaking incident unfolded as a Jubo League activist, Md Islam Bhuttu, aged 46 and a resident of the post office area in Kurigram municipality, was crushed to death by a sand-laden truck. The incident occurred in the early hours of the day, leaving Bhuttu dead on the spot.
Eyewitnesses reported that a sand-laden truck, coming from Chilmari, collided with the motorcycle that Bhuttu was riding, resulting in the fatal accident. Upon receiving the information, local police swiftly seized the truck and transported it to the police station for further investigation.

Masudur Rahman, the officer-in-charge (OC) of Kurigram Sadar Police Station, confirmed the tragic incident, sending shockwaves through the community.
**Gazipur District Tragedy**
Meanwhile, in Gazipur, another heart-wrenching incident took place when a truck collided with a pick-up van in Sreepur upazila. The collision resulted in the deaths of two individuals, Chanchal Roy, aged 30 and the driver of the pick-up van from Sunamganj, and Ripon, aged 35 and a resident of Mohammadpur in Dhaka. Another individual, Md Mamun, aged 40 and from Barishal, sustained injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment.
According to sources from the Mawna Fire Service, the speeding pick-up van collided with a truck near the Jainabazar Road Divider area. The impact of the collision caused the front part of the pick-up van to be severely damaged, leading to Chanchal Roy’s immediate death at the scene. Ripon, who was critically injured, was rushed to Sreepur Upazila Health Complex, where doctors, unfortunately, declared him dead. The injured Mamun is currently under medical care for his injuries.
Mahbub Morshed, the officer-in-charge of Mawna Highway Police Station, confirmed the tragic incident in Gazipur, adding to the growing list of road accidents that have claimed lives in the country.
