Tragic Accident in Finksburg, Maryland
On the night of June 2, 2024, a tragic accident occurred in Finksburg, Maryland, claiming the life of a 41-year-old Carroll County man. The Maryland State Police are currently investigating the incident that took place on Emory Road at Cedarhurst Road, where Geoffrey Brittingham, 41, of Hampstead, lost his life.

According to reports, Brittingham was driving his 2022 Ford Explorer northbound on Emory Road when he failed to stop for a closed construction zone at the North Branch Patapsco River bridge replacement project. This resulted in a collision with a 2014 Volvo Excavator and a Mack Dump Truck. Sadly, Brittingham was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS personnel from Carroll County.
