A 36-year-old man has been arrested for murder after a 25-year-old man was fatally stabbed in the Fordham Manor section of The Bronx. The incident took place on Sunday, May 26, at 237 Landing Road. The victim, identified as Eric Worrell, was pronounced dead at St. Barnabas Hospital. Christopher Hunt, also residing at 237 Landing Road, has been charged with murder in the second degree. The building at 237 Landing Road, designed by architects Edelman Sultan Knox Woods/Architects, LLP, houses a 200-bed homeless shelter and 135 affordable housing units. A community in Fordham Manor, The Bronx, was left in shock after a 25-year-old man, identified as Eric Worrell, was tragically stabbed to death following a verbal dispute on Sunday, May 26.

Authorities from the 52nd Precinct rushed to 237 Landing Road in response to a distressing 911 call reporting the stabbing incident. Despite efforts by Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to save him, Worrell succumbed to his injuries at St. Barnabas Hospital.

 

The investigation into this heartbreaking event is ongoing, but a breakthrough was made when 36-year-old Christopher Hunt, a resident of the same address, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder in connection with Worrell’s death.

 

The residential complex at 237 Landing Road, managed by Bowery Residents’ Committee (BRC) Inc., serves as a beacon of hope for those in need. Designed by renowned architects Edelman Sultan Knox Woods/Architects, LLP, the building houses a mix of a 200-bed homeless shelter and 135 affordable housing units, providing vital support to the community.
