Teenager Killed and Man Injured in Stabbing Attack

A quiet suburban neighborhood in Sumter County, Florida, was rocked by a tragic incident on Saturday night when a 15-year-old boy was killed and a 48-year-old man was critically injured in a brutal stabbing attack. The incident took place at the boy’s home during a sleepover, turning a night of fun into a night of horror.

Emergency Response and Victims’ Condition

Sumter County Undersheriff Pat Breeden reported that deputies responded to a distress call at around 10 p.m. and found the two victims in critical condition. Emergency medical personnel worked tirelessly to stabilize the victims before airlifting them to nearby hospitals for urgent treatment. Tragically, the young boy, identified as Connor Michael Gill, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead shortly before 1:30 a.m. The adult victim remains in stable condition, though his identity has not been disclosed.

Suspect Apprehended

The authorities swiftly identified a 16-year-old boy, Alexander Warren Hernandez, as the suspect responsible for the brutal stabbings. With the assistance of the sheriff’s office helicopter, Hernandez was located and apprehended shortly after the incident. Shockingly, Breeden shared photographs of the weapons used in the attack, including a knife and a kama, a Japanese farming blade that Hernandez had purchased online.

Motive and Charges

According to the sheriff’s office, Hernandez allegedly arrived unannounced at the victims’ home, forcibly entered, and carried out the vicious attack. The motive behind the senseless violence remains unclear, as both the suspect and the victim were withdrawn from school and being homeschooled.
