Two people were killed and another injured in a tragic accident on the Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway in Gazipur’s Sreepur upazila. The incident occurred early in the morning when an unknown vehicle collided with a lorry carrying day labourers. The deceased were identified as lorry driver Chanchal Roy, 38, and passenger Ripon, 38. Another day labourer named Mamun was injured and taken to a nearby hospital. The police are investigating the accident, and the bodies will undergo autopsy at Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital. Eyewitnesses reported that the accident occurred when the vehicle hit the lorry in the Jaina Bazar area.

In a tragic incident on the Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway in Gazipur’s Sreepur upazila, two individuals lost their lives and another was injured when an unknown vehicle collided with a lorry carrying day labourers. The victims have been identified as lorry driver Chanchal Roy, aged 38, and passenger Ripon, also 38 years old. The injured day labourer, Mamun, was swiftly taken to a nearby hospital for treatment following the accident.
According to Mauna Highway Police Sub-Inspector Zahid Mia, the collision occurred in the early hours of the morning at Jaina Bazar area around 4:00am. Eyewitnesses and locals revealed that the impact caused some workers to fall from the lorry, resulting in the tragic deaths of the driver and a worker at the scene of the accident. The bodies of the deceased will be transported to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital for autopsy procedures.
Sub-Inspector Zahid Mia further informed that the authorities are currently conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
