Two people were killed and another injured in a road crash in Gazipur district. The incident occurred early Sunday at the Joina Bazar U-turn area on the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway. The deceased were identified as Chanchal Roy and Ripon. The accident involved a pick-up van hitting a truck from behind. Belal Ahmed, Sreepur Fire Service Station Officer, stated that one person died on the spot, while two others were injured and taken to Sreepur Upazila Health Complex, where one later succumbed to injuries. Legal actions were being taken, according to Sheikh Mahbub Morshed, Mauna Highway Police Station.

Two Dead in Fatal Gazipur Road Accident
Two people were killed and another was injured after a pick-up van hit a truck at Sreepur upazila in Gazipur district early Sunday.
The accident took place at around 4:00 am in Joina Bazar U-turn area on the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway.
The deceased were identified as truck driver Chanchal Roy, 30, son of Natesh Roy, hailed from Alipur village in Sunamganj district; and Ripon, 35, son of Siddique Howlader, hailed from Barishal district.
Belal Ahmed, Sreepur Fire Service Station Officer, said a Mymensingh-bound pick-up from Dhaka hit a truck from its behind when the pick-up arrived in the area, leaving one dead on the spot and two others injured.
Later, they were rescued and taken to Sreepur Upazila Health Complex where another succumbed to his injuries.
On information, the bodies were recovered and legal actions were under process in this regard, said Sheikh Mahbub Morshed, Mauna Highway Police Station.
