Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a fatal crash involving a motorcyclist on University Blvd West near Kerwin Road (Kemp Mill area). The collision occurred between a white 2023 Tesla Model 3 and a black and green 2019 Kawasaki ZX636 motorcycle. The motorcyclist, identified as 28-year-old Brian Antonio Martinez Gamez, was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation revealed that the Tesla driver was turning left onto University Blvd West when Martinez Gamez collided with the driver’s side. Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a tragic scene in the Kemp Mill area of Montgomery County. A motorcyclist was struck and killed in a collision that took place around midnight on Friday night into Saturday on University Blvd West near Kerwin Road.

The Montgomery County Department of Police – Collision Reconstruction Unit is conducting an investigation into the fatal crash that claimed the life of 28-year-old Brian Antonio Martinez Gamez of Silver Spring.

Details of the Incident

According to authorities, the collision involved a white 2023 Tesla Model 3 and a black and green 2019 Kawasaki ZX636 motorcycle. Martinez Gamez was traveling eastbound on University Blvd West when the Tesla driver, turning left from northbound Kerwin Road, crossed paths with him. Despite Martinez Gamez’s attempts to avoid the car, he ultimately collided with the Tesla’s driver side.

The driver of the Tesla remained at the scene, and the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact CRU detectives at (240) 773-6620.
