The Broncos secured their spot with a dominant 15-0 victory over Glenboro/Baldur/Cartwright in the quarterfinals on Friday. In the Provincial High School Fastpitch Championship, Virden Bears, the Zone 9 champions, will be facing St. Joachim/Real Berard in the quarterfinals in Portage. In the South West Baseball League action, Boissevain Centennials and Rivers Comets emerged victorious on Friday night. Drew Hilhorst shined for the Centennials with a double, triple, and three RBI, while Layton Veitch led Rivers to an 11-0 win with two hits and four RBI. Scott Beever struck out 13 batters for the Comets, who remain undefeated at 4-0.
