In Sanford, Florida, police have made a second arrest in connection to a shooting incident that resulted in the tragic death of a 17-year-old boy back in April. The incident, which stemmed from an alleged drug deal, has left the community in shock.

Arrest of Terrell Leon Walker

Terrell Leon Walker, 21, was apprehended in Georgia by the Albany-Dougherty Special Investigative Unit. An arrest warrant had been issued for Walker on charges of second-degree murder and attempted robbery with a firearm. This arrest marks the second in connection to the death of Sadarion Cosby.

Details of the Shooting

The shooting took place on April 9 near the intersection of Ellen Place and Scott Drive in the Washington Oaks neighborhood. Cosby, along with three others, approached a parked Kia K5 sedan for a drug deal. However, things took a dark turn when one of the individuals in the group attempted to rob the driver at gunpoint. In self-defence, the driver fired a shot that tragically struck Cosby in the abdomen.

Response from Authorities

Following the incident, Chief Cecil Smith of the Sanford Police Department criticised the actions of Cosby’s associates, who fled the scene instead of helping him. “They didn’t help him get the emergency medical attention he needed, nor stay to assist law enforcement in identifying and locating the person(s) responsible. Unacceptable,” Smith stated.

Ongoing Investigation
