A man from Cherry Tree who was wanted on multiple warrants was apprehended on Wednesday in Clearfield County.
State Police from the Punxsutawney Barracks received a call to the area of West River Road and Main Street in Burnside Borough at 10:11 AM to locate 30-year-old Cody Schmoke. Upon arrival, they discovered him in a camper in the vicinity. Schmoke refused to comply with verbal commands and attempted to flee on foot after leaving the camper. However, he was quickly captured following a brief chase and subsequently taken to Clearfield County Jail. Police also recovered several firearms from the camper.
While in Clearfield County, Schmoke is facing a charge of harassment, and is also accused of failing to comply with Meghan’s Law.

A woman from Home sustained injuries in a crash that occurred in Armstrong County last Tuesday.
State Police from the Kittanning Barracks reported that the crash took place at 10 AM on Route 85, just east of Coulter Road in Cowanshannock Township. The victim, identified as 67-year-old Brenda McCoy, was driving when a deer suddenly appeared on the roadway. Upon colliding with the deer, her SUV came to a halt. The vehicle sustained some damage and had to be towed away. McCoy, who had suspected minor injuries, was evaluated on-site by Citizens Ambulance.
