The Incident in New London, United Kingdom

A man from New London, Connecticut has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for his involvement in a 2019 shooting that targeted his ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend. The incident took place on Third Avenue in New London, a quiet neighbourhood known for its historical charm and picturesque streets.

Details of the Crime

Court records revealed that three individuals, Bless Seales, Sakye Reels, and Kion Wilbur, were seen with their faces covered as they walked along Third Avenue on November 24, 2019. One of them approached a building at 168 Third Ave, where a surveillance camera captured the moment a shot was fired through a second-floor window.

Following the gunshot, a 911 call was made to the New London Police Department, who quickly responded to the scene. They discovered the broken window and a projectile resting on a closet shelf inside the residence, indicating a targeted attack.

Orchestrating the Attack

The mastermind behind the shooting was Shaquan Lee-Seales, who was already serving time in prison for an unrelated offence. Through phone conversations and written correspondence that were under review, it was revealed that Lee-Seales had planned the attack in a bid to eliminate his ex-girlfriend and her new partner.

Legal Consequences

After a trial at New London Superior Court, Lee-Seales was found guilty of two counts of conspiracy to commit murder, two counts of accessory to attempted murder, risk of injury to a minor, and inciting injury to persons. The presiding judge, Shari A. Murphy, sentenced him to an additional 20 years in prison, which will be served consecutively to his current term.

Paul J. Narducci, the State’s Attorney for the New London Judicial District, emphasised that the severity of Lee-Seales’ actions warranted the lengthy sentence imposed by the court.

As the residents of New London come to terms with this shocking incident, they can take solace in the fact that justice has been served and the community remains vigilant against acts of violence.
