Another day, another Teen Mom star in trouble with the taxman. This time, it’s Amber Portwood who found herself facing a tax lien for over $59,000 from the California government. The news of the lien was first reported by In Touch Weekly, but The Ashley has more exclusive details on the matter.

Amber, who resides in Indiana, received a notice of the state tax lien in April, stating that she owes $59,220 in unpaid California state taxes for the tax year 2020. Interestingly, the address listed as Amber’s “last known address” on the documents is the Malibu mansion where her ex Andrew Glennon lived with his family. However, the income in question belongs solely to Amber.

According to the tax lien documents obtained by The Ashley, Amber’s debt will continue to accumulate fees and interest until it is paid off. Additionally, the lien can potentially affect the property that Amber currently owns, including her home in Indiana.

This is not the first time Amber has faced tax issues. In 2016, she received a federal tax lien for over $134,000 in unpaid income taxes. Similarly, last year, her Teen Mom co-star Maci Bookout also dealt with tax liens for money earned in California. Maci owed over $26,000 to the state, and this year, her tax debt increased significantly with two new federal tax liens totaling over $150,000.

As of now, Amber has not made any public comments regarding her new tax lien. It is possible that she was not even aware of the lien until it became public knowledge, as the notice was sent to Andrew’s family home where she does not reside.

Despite her financial troubles, Amber will be appearing on Season 2 of ‘Teen Mom: The Next Chapter,’ premiering on MTV soon. It remains to be seen whether her tax issues will be addressed on the show.

In conclusion, it seems like tax troubles are not uncommon among reality TV stars, including the Teen Mom cast. It serves as a reminder that even celebrities are not immune to financial challenges and should always stay on top of their tax obligations to avoid facing consequences like tax liens.
