Details of the Arrest of Alleged Gangster in Gregory Park, Portmore, St Catherine

A young man by the name of Tyrese Taylor, also known as ‘Reddy’, has been arrested and charged with a series of serious offenses in Gregory Park, Portmore, St Catherine.

Tyrese Taylor, a 23-year-old resident of Dover Avenue, Gregory Park, has been linked to a notorious gang known as the ‘Chargie Badness Gang’.

The police have laid a raft of charges against Taylor, including murder, shooting, assault, and arson, following their investigations into various violent incidents that have occurred in the area over the past few years.

Incidents Leading to the Arrest

On August 9, 2021, Taylor and other alleged gang members carried out a fatal shooting at a restaurant in Gregory Park, resulting in the death of Omar Ricketts, a 39-year-old man from Christian Pen.

Months later, on December 18, 2021, Taylor and his accomplices committed a gruesome act by decapitating a man named Rafiel Natty in the community. The severed head was later discovered by residents in Gregory Park.

In 2023, Taylor was involved in another violent incident where he shot and killed a taxi operator, Raneel Haughton, before setting several homes on fire, resulting in the death of an elderly woman named Niomi Gocul.

Arrest and Charges

Tyrese Taylor was apprehended during a police operation in the parish, and following a question-and-answer interview, he was charged with multiple offenses, including murder, assault, shooting with intent, and arson.

His court date is currently being finalized as law enforcement in the St Catherine South Division continues to search for other suspects involved in these heinous crimes.
