A 23-year-old gangster, Tyrese Taylor, has been charged with murder, shooting, and assault in Gregory Park, Portmore, St Catherine. Taylor, known as ‘Reddy’, is allegedly a member of the ‘Chargie Badness Gang’ and has been linked to gang-related homicides, shootings, arson, and beheading incidents. He faces multiple charges, including murder, assault, unlawful wounding, aiding and abetting, shooting with intent, and arson. Taylor is also accused of participating in a criminal organization and possessing prohibited weapons. The police are still searching for other suspects involved in the violent incidents. A series of serious charges have been brought against a 23-year-old alleged gang member in Gregory Park, Portmore, St Catherine.

Tyrese Taylor, known as ‘Reddy’, is facing charges that include murder, shooting and assault. The police have connected him to gang-related homicides, shootings, arson and even beheading in the area.

The Violent Incidents

Following investigations into violent incidents dating back to 2021 and 2023, Taylor has been charged with a range of offences. These include four counts of murder, assault at common law, unlawful wounding, aiding and abetting, shooting with intent, and arson.

He is also facing charges related to being a participant in a criminal organization, facilitating the commission of an applicable offence by a criminal organization, possession of a prohibited weapon, unauthorized possession of ammunition, and using a firearm to commit a felony.

Details of the Crimes

One of the incidents Taylor is allegedly linked to took place on August 9, 2021. Armed with firearms, Taylor and other gang members shot and killed a man named Omar Ricketts at a restaurant in Gregory Park.

In another horrifying incident on December 18, 2021, Taylor and his accomplices entered a premises where they held two men at gunpoint, beat one of them, and decapitated another with a machete. The severed head was later found in the community.

In 2023, Taylor and his gang struck again, this time killing a taxi operator and setting several homes on fire, resulting in the death of an elderly woman due to severe burns.

Arrest and Investigation

Taylor was apprehended during a police operation in the St Catherine South Division. Following a question-and-answer session, he is now awaiting his court date.

Law enforcement authorities are continuing their search for other suspects involved in these violent incidents that have rocked the community of Gregory Park.
