A Real Estate Agent Found Murdered in Laval Park

A 20-year-old man is set to be charged with the first-degree murder of a 46-year-old woman who was brutally attacked in a wooded area of a park in Laval on Wednesday night. The victim, identified as Irina Draghicescu Iankulov, was a real estate agent in the area.

The tragic incident unfolded when a 911 call was made around 7:35 p.m. reporting a seriously injured woman in Armand-Frappier Woods in the city’s Chomedey district. Despite efforts to resuscitate her, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Following a tip from the public, police were able to locate and apprehend a man who was reportedly attempting to break into an apartment near the crime scene. The suspect, a resident of Laval with no prior criminal record in Quebec, was taken into custody and labeled a person of interest.

Witnesses are being interviewed by authorities, and a command post has been established at the site of the incident for further investigation.
