Tragic Shooting Incident in Linn County, Oregon

A man tragically lost his life in a shooting incident in Lebanon, Linn County, Oregon. The victim, identified as 49-year-old Gino Anthony Marcoccia, was shot and killed by a Linn County deputy after refusing to drop his rifle and advancing towards officers, as reported by Oregon State Police.

The incident took place at a home on Speasl Road near Lebanon at approximately 8:15 p.m. The deputies were responding to a reported domestic dispute involving a gun, during which the suspect allegedly fired the weapon.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers encountered Marcoccia outside the house, armed with a rifle. Despite repeated commands to drop his weapon, Marcoccia continued to advance towards one of the deputies, prompting the officer to fire shots at him.
