Georgia School Bus Driver Arrested for DUI After Crash
In a concerning incident in Forsyth County, Georgia, a school bus driver was arrested on DUI charges after crashing the school bus with children onboard. The driver, identified as 52-year-old Ginger Katz, was charged with driving under the influence, failure to yield to right of way, and endangering a child by DUI.
The incident took place on May 23, and Katz, who was working as a driver for various districts, had her bond set at $55,650. The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office stated that they cannot release an incident report due to the involvement of minors, and the incident is currently under investigation.

In a separate incident, a charter bus driver was arrested for driving under the influence with students onboard. The driver, Keith Shifflett, was transporting Sebring High School seniors to Daytona Beach, Florida, for a class trip when students noticed his erratic driving.
Parents who were following the bus contacted 911 after witnessing Shifflett running red lights and driving recklessly. One parent even drove her car to the front of the bus to slow it down until it came to a stop. Police arrived at the scene, conducted a field sobriety test, and found a can of beer in the bus’s trash can.
Charter Bus Driver Arrested for DUI
Keith Shifflett, a 55-year-old charter bus driver, was arrested for driving under the influence while transporting over 30 graduating Sebring High School seniors to Daytona Beach, Florida. The incident occurred when students on board noticed his erratic driving behavior.
A concerned parent, who was following the bus, witnessed Shifflett running red lights and cutting off other drivers. She took action by driving her car to the front of the bus to slow it down until it stopped. After contacting 911, police arrived at the scene, conducted a field sobriety test, and discovered a can of beer in the bus’s trash can.
Shifflett now faces multiple charges, including DUI and cruelty toward children. He was promptly terminated from his job by Holiday Coach Lines and is currently held in the Highlands County Jail without bond.
