Residents in West Orange have been left shocked following the recent arrest of a local man on marijuana-related charges. The incident occurred in the quiet neighbourhood of the 2200 block of Bonnie Street, where authorities executed a search warrant based on complaints from concerned citizens.
At around 10 a.m. on a Wednesday morning, officers from the West Orange Police Department, in collaboration with investigators from the City of Orange Police Department, descended upon the property to investigate the alleged illegal activities taking place there.
During the search, law enforcement officers uncovered a significant amount of illicit substances, including over five pounds of high-grade marijuana, THC vape pens, and a quantity of THC wax. The seizure of these items led to the arrest of a male resident identified as David McKnight.
McKnight now faces charges of 3rd-degree felony possession of marijuana, a serious offence that carries a potential sentence of 2 to 10 years in prison and a hefty fine if convicted. He was promptly booked into the Orange County Jail following his arrest.
The joint operation between the West Orange and Orange Police narcotics divisions was a direct response to the concerns raised by local residents, highlighting the importance of community involvement in tackling criminal activities within neighbourhoods.
